Biography: Sanae's early years were spent mostly with her grandparents in a small home near the ocean, as both of her parents really didn't care about her and thought she never existed. Her real parents were too young to really know anything about parenthood, and they abandoned her on a busy boardwalk where hundreds of people stopped on every day to enjoy some of the finest dishes and other things, and one day her grandmother found her there and took her to her house. Her grandfather ran a small foodstand during the summer, and he often let Sanae help with the cooking and other things, and she was actually well-behaved (though she did occasionally steal some food for herself). She occasionally acted as a taste tester on some recipes that her grandparents would cook up (she would turn up her nose on anything that contained onion and/or chili pepper, and any dish that had blueberries and/or spinach in it would be suddenly gone in the blink of an eye [unless it contained onion or chili pepper, in which case it usually wound up on the floor]). As she got older, Sanae eventually started to take interest in things other than food, like cats and video games, and even did well at school, getting along with teachers and other classmates and getting pretty good grades. However, as time went by, her grandfather's health suddenly started deteriorating rather quickly. Sanae and her grandmother eventually started keeping an eye on him 24/7. Eventually he got too sick to even leave his bed, so Sanae's grandmother took over running the foodstand. Sanae's grandfather finally croaked on a wet and rainy evening in April. Sanae has almost no memory of exactly what happened right after that, except that one of her teachers from school moved in soon afterward to take care of her and her grandmother. Sanae spent the next few weeks after her grandfather's memorial service letting the teacher drive her to school and helping him care for her grandmother, and then one warm day in August, Sanae received a strange letter in the mail stating something about her being accepted into a "Blossom High", so she showed her grandmother the letter. She (her grandmother) was perfectly chill with it, and allowed Sanae to go.

Her (despised) nickname, "Teal Aesthetic", came from some random passerby that she had met that said she looked like a giant walking aesthetic that was teal.
